    Embellished-Napolean-Jacket

So Tuesday night was the launch of the Warehouse Utility Collection and SugarMosh were there to check it out.

It was Khaki galore on the shop floor with a handful of celebs making an appearance and a DJ playing some funky tunes.

The Champagne was downstairs, perfectly placed so you had to go through the whole shop, which doesn’t bother me at all!

Military Jackets are a great adddition to your wardrobe this season and the must-have item of the night had to be the Embellished Napolean Jacket for a cool £100, if you bought Elle magazine this month you can get 25%, which brings it down to a £75 bargain!

Check out which celebs were there over on the Warehouse blog

    Alexander McQueen Navy Flapper Clutch

With the sad news of Alexander McQueen’s death we wanted to celebrate the life of McQueen and look at a few of his accomplishments.

Alexander McQueen was a Gay British fashion designer born 16 March 1969.

McQueen’s early catwalk collections developed his reputation for controversy and shock tactics with his erotic designs.
He was the first designer to lead the way in low waisted trousers known as ‘bumsters’- trousers with a waistband so low that the buttocks are revealed!

These ‘bumsters’ have since set the trend in fashion all the way to the high street with many low rise jeans and troussers available for purchase.
McQueen was also well known for using skulls in his designs. This has also followed trend and skulls now appear on pumps/ shirts / jewelry and is another big trend to hit Summer 2010.

McQueen was also one of the first fashion designers to use indian models in London.

His catwalk shows were full of drama, innovation and creativity

McQueen’s accomplishments included being one of the youngest designers to achieve the title “British Designer of the Year”, which he won four times between 1996 and 2003.

In December 2000 McQueen partnered with the Gucci Group acquiring 51% of his company.

McQueen became the first fashion designer to promote MAC’s cosmetics which was then followed by other designers. The collection, called McQueen, was released in October 2007 and reflected the looks used on the Autumn/Winter McQueen catwalk.
Lady Gaga posted a picture up of her and McQueen on twitter. She is well known for wearing McQueen designs on the red carpet and in her videos. Lady Gaga is definitely not one to shy away and makes huge statements with her clothing, which is the epitome of McQueens designs.

Remember the red dress at the MTV Music Awards 2007 this was designed by McQueen.

RIP Alexandra McQueen you will be dearly missed x

Recently the surface of my Dell Inspiron bubble gum pink laptop developed stains and whilst I tried everything to remove these they would not budge. So taking drastic action I decided to search for something that would cover my laptop surface yet provide a solution that wasn’t tacky.

After searching endlessly, I came across something called a laptop skin which is a customised adhesive sticker. These are readily available to buy online for various different products such as ipods/ mobiles/ x-box and different models of laptops.

There are many designs to choose from, so they cater for most tastes, whether it be abstract/ plain and simple/ picturesque landscapes/ Disney characters/ food and you can even upload your own pictures or create your own designs!!

The skins are easy to clean, and do not leave a residue once removed. Be warned that the skins are only recommended to be used once only.

Prices vary but tend to start from around £15 for laptop skins purchased in the UK and increase depending on size and design/ personalisation.

Needless to say that since I have received my new laptop skin my stained laptop has been transformed.

If you’re a MAC owner visit Etsy for a range of creative laptop skins, please note these generally won’t cover the whole surface of the laptop and are used for decorative purposes. SugarMosh totally loves this Snow White Vinyl holding the Apple.

With the repercussions of the recession still lingering and Summer 2010 only round the corner (although the snow never seems to be too far away) most of us are thinking about our next holiday, next best buy, and we at SugarMosh are no different. So to help you along the way and to save those extra pennies here are our best buys for Summer…

    Lace Up Boots

This Spring’s must have fashion accessory is without a doubt lace-up boots.

It’s a versatile addition to any wardrobe and can be worn with jeans, tights’, leggings, skirts and dresses, making this SugarMosh best buy for Spring/ Summer 2010!

Available in various heel sizes, SugarMosh reccommends River Island’s lace up ankle boots in beige at £64.99 for those of you who like flat heels.

River Island also have buckled ankle boots with a 9cm heel in Brown priced at only £39.99. Bargain!

Combine the boots with light floral prints to add that edge to your outfit or a boyfriend blazer and jeans for a classic look with a twist!

    Let’s get Naughty-cool

The Nautical trend is similar to the ‘little black dress’ in your wardrobe in that it’s something that will never really go out of season. However this year, nautical looks are BIG business. Remember even the little touches can make a big statement, if you don’t want to go all out and break the bank here are two of our must haves:

    H&M Top at £7.99

    Top New Look £10.00

Bows, stripes and buttons, all make up the nautical look, so just adding a little Mosh to your outfit will provide you with all the Sugar you need!  ;-)

Remember it’s about accessorising and combining little touches that make the big statements this Summer!

    Happy Shopping x
