Recently the surface of my Dell Inspiron bubble gum pink laptop developed stains and whilst I tried everything to remove these they would not budge. So taking drastic action I decided to search for something that would cover my laptop surface yet provide a solution that wasn’t tacky.

After searching endlessly, I came across something called a laptop skin which is a customised adhesive sticker. These are readily available to buy online for various different products such as ipods/ mobiles/ x-box and different models of laptops.

There are many designs to choose from, so they cater for most tastes, whether it be abstract/ plain and simple/ picturesque landscapes/ Disney characters/ food and you can even upload your own pictures or create your own designs!!

The skins are easy to clean, and do not leave a residue once removed. Be warned that the skins are only recommended to be used once only.

Prices vary but tend to start from around £15 for laptop skins purchased in the UK and increase depending on size and design/ personalisation.

Needless to say that since I have received my new laptop skin my stained laptop has been transformed.

If you’re a MAC owner visit Etsy for a range of creative laptop skins, please note these generally won’t cover the whole surface of the laptop and are used for decorative purposes. SugarMosh totally loves this Snow White Vinyl holding the Apple.

Rumours on the internet suggest that the folks at Research in Motion (RIM) have been working overtime on preparing the Roadmap for the new version of BlackBerry OS – 6.0. A Boy Genius Report suggests that the Canadian Phone Maker has now started the development of BlackBerry OS 6.0 and it might be slated for a release in year 2011.

Blackberry has been in the firing line due to customer criticism for offering only incremental improvements offered by previous upgrades. There have been no major releases of BlackBerry OS for quiet a while now. This is in contrast to other leading players like Apple and Palm which have been constantly rolling out newer releases of their OS in order to fix issues and enhance user experience on their phones.

Along with 6.0, BlackBerry might also roll out a stop gap release (5.2) to fix high priority issues in BlackBerry OS.

It’s surely bound to be a very interesting tussle for the top spot between RIM (Blackberry), Google (Nexus One) and Apple (iPhone) this year.
